Modeling and Design of a Solar Rotary Dryer Bench Test for Phosphate Sludge

As an eco-friendlier way to manage mining waste, the use of solar energy dry phosphate sludge in a rotary dryer is envisioned. first step toward this end, design study for bench-scale detailed, using one-dimensional mathematical model developed task. Using Engineering Equation Solver (EES) software, steady-state transport phenomena was that enables estimation moisture and temperature profiles both gas product dryer. A sensitivity analysis evaluated effects influence different geometric parameters operating conditions on profile. Parameters involved include diameter dryer, residence time dry, inlet air temperature, humidity. This allowed selection suitable operation with 1.5 m length internal 11.5 cm. The set at 200°C achieve reduction content from 30% 7%. validated through literature experimental datasets, error averaging 0.22% 1.52%, respectively.
